Yamaha introduced its newest member Sport Heritage family, which continues to complement the retro elements. Although designed for the North American market this Scrambler bears the name of the SCR950.
New Yamaha SCR950 is mechanically based on custom XV 950, is powered by air-cooled, V-twin, 4-stroke, 4-valve, SOHC, single pin crankshaft, fuel injected, displacement of 942cc with maximum torque of 59.3 lf-ft at 3000 rpm, mated to a 5-speed multiple wet clutch.
Comes with a double cradle steel frame with exposed rear subframe where the front suspension 41mm KYB fork with 120mm of wheel travel and rear suspension preload adjustable premium dual gas charged piggyback shocks with 70mm wheel travel. Front tire dimension of 100 / 90x19 and rear tire dimension 140 / 80x17, with the tires slightly coarser profile, behind which are hidden from front 298mm wave disc brake with twin piston caliper and 298mm rear brake wave disc with single piston caliper.
Although this is Scrambler, exhaust composition is not highly elevated, with different fuel tank and a new steering wheel with a cross-beam which provides excellent riding position, there is a pronounced flat and significantly more raised seat beneath which are oval plates for the competition number, and the SCR from other models XV differentiated by spoked wheels.
