At a press conference Ducati before the start of the EICMA show in Milan introduced its novelty Superbike 1299 Panigale S, which thanks to its technological features opened the way for a new frontier of supersports bikes.
The 2015 Ducati Superbike 1299 Panigale S now comes with a new liquid-cooled V-twin, 4 valves per cylinder, engine which is displacement of 1285cc, new electronic kit with Inertial Measurement Unit, which develops maximum power of 205 hp at 10,500 rpm and a torque of 145 Nm at 8750 rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox.
Monocoque aluminum frame with front suspension 43 mm Öhlins inverted fork NIX30, electronically adjustable with 4.7" of wheel travel and rear suspension electronically adjustable Öhlins TTX36 unit with 6.7" of wheel travel and aluminum single-sided swingarm. Lightweight forged aluminum wheels with front tire dimensions 120 / 70ZR-17 and rear tire 200 / 55ZR-17 wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tires. Front brake dual 330 mm semi-floating discs with radially mounted Brembo monobloc EVO M50 4-piston calipers, cornering ABS and rear brake 245 mm disc with two-piston caliper, cornering ABS.
It should be noted that the IMU system combines the functions of electronic circuits and this includes ABS, traction controllers, system against lifting the rear wheel, quick shifter that works for changing gears up and down, then the brake control unit, engine maps work (Race, Sport, Wet), semi-active suspension and the like.
The new Ducati Superbike 1299 Panigale S should weigh 166.5 kg, where the fuel tank capacity of 17 liters. In addition, front mudguard is made of carbon fiber and horizontal twin headlamps are integrated as part of the front intake port which is full LED. Color is Ducati Red with black wheels.
