The 2015 BMW S1000XR is a new model that belongs to the class adventure sports and wherein the main goal is placed on sports performance, dynamic touring qualities, everyday usability and excellent comfort.
The new BMW S1000XR uses a well-known S platform where it powered by water / oil-cooled, four-cylinder, four-stroke, in-line engine, four valves per cylinder, two overhead camshafts, which develops maximum power of 118 kW (160 hp) at 11,000 rpm and torque of 112 Nm (83 lb-ft) at 9,250 rpm, paired with constant-mesh 6-speed gearbox, straight-toothed with a multi-plate clutch in oil bath, anti-hopping clutch, mechanically controlled. It develops a maximum speed of 200 km / h and average fuel consumption 5.8 liters per 100 km at a speed of 120 km / h.
The chassis is completely new design (geometry has been completely redefined) with aluminum composite bridge frame, partially self-supporting engine where is front suspension upside-down telescopic fork 46 mm with compression, rebound stage adjustable with 150 mm wheel travel and rear aluminum suspension two-sided swing arm, rebound damping adjustable with 140 mm wheel travel. Aluminum cast wheel with front tire dimensions of 120/70 ZR 17 and rear tire dimensions 190/55 ZR 17. Front brake 320 mm twin disc brake, floating brake calipers with radial 4-piston fixed caliper brake and rear single 265 mm disc brake with 2-piston floating caliper. Fuel tank capacity of 20 liters where reserve is 4 liters and unladen weight of 228 kg.
Two riding modes (Rain and Road) and ASC as standard as well as the option of Pro riding modes (two additional riding modes available, Dynamic and Dynamic Pro) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and ABS Pro. Also, the BMW S1000XR in key features include light-footed handling and raised seating position and multifunctional instrument cluster as well as extensive equipment and bespoke range of accessories.
