At last year's Tokyo Motor Show, Yamaha is unveiled their vision of a sports car which is a structural and design masterpiece and by the team of people led by Gordon Murray, designer of the famous McLaren F1. It should also be noted that the team member and former Toyota's designer Dezi Nagaya.
Based on that born is Yamaha Sports Ride Concept! This is another concept of passenger cars (the first Motive, which was presented in early 2015). Sports Ride Concept is a compact design, clearly inspired by the world of motorcycles. The basis of the new vehicles made radical carbon fiber technology, modeled on the chassis Formule1. Here is implemented iStream technology, which enables a drastic reduction in the mass of the chassis, but at the same time increase the stiffness and safety. Its weight is only 750 kg.
Compactness is reflected in the size of the entire vehicle length 3900 mm (153.54 in), width 1720 mm (67.71 in) and a height of 1170 mm (46.06 in). Aggressive body is typically Japanese, but with similarities to supercars like the McLaren P1.
Yamaha Sport Ride Concept as an ultra lightweight, two-seater boasts stylish interior which is upholstered with leather and sports instrument cluster with round instruments, knobs, and air vents. For all this to realize the similarity with Lotus and McLaren but the final stamp gives LaFerrari exterior mirrors.
The only thing that we did not know what type of engine will powered this sport car, although it is possible that it will be taken from the bike or something like that. So the real question is, do really Yamaha thinks the production of cars, because if something do like that and then it can surely compete with one Lotus Elise or even Mazda MX-5 model.
